The summer is a time to prepare for the new academic year. And we are already working to ensure that our students learn what will shape the future of cybersecurity.
While the summer holidays are still underway, work is in full swing at the V.V. Popovsky Department of Information and Communication Engineering (ice.nure.ua). We are already preparing for the new academic year so that our students not only study traditional curricula but also master the technologies that are already shaping the future of global cybersecurity.
That is precisely why Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics and A42 have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which our department is actively involved in implementing.
This means that, from September onwards, bachelor's and master's students on the F5 programme "Cybersecurity and Information Protection" (specialisation in Cybersecurity Management and specialisation/specialised programme in Cybersecurity Analytics) will be studying using materials, practical case studies and technological developments from A42 – a Ukrainian deep -tech company that develops its own solutions in the field of AI Cybersecurity, creates AI agents for the automation of cyber defence, and develops innovative AI Pentest and AI SAST products, whilst participating in major international research and technology projects.
Students will work with modern approaches that are already being actively implemented in the cyber industry today:
🔹 AI Pentesting — the use of artificial intelligence to automate security testing;
🔹 AI Cybersecurity — the use of AI to detect cyber threats, analyse vulnerabilities, support security processes and respond to incidents;
🔹 AI Agents for Cybersecurity — the development of intelligent agents capable of automating the work of cybersecurity specialists and assisting them in decision-making.
In addition, we are launching joint research projects in the field of AI Cybersecurity. Their aim is to develop new approaches to protecting digital systems, create autonomous AI agents, investigate the use of artificial intelligence for threat detection, and implement intelligent automation in cyber defence.
Professor Maryna Yevdokymenko from the department will coordinate this collaboration; together with experts from A42, she will work on integrating modern AI technologies into the teaching process, developing practical training for students and implementing joint research initiatives.
We firmly believe that universities today must not only impart knowledge but also work alongside technology companies that are creating the solutions of tomorrow. It is precisely this kind of collaboration that enables students to get involved in real-world projects whilst still studying, to understand the current challenges facing the sector, and to develop the skills that will be in demand in the coming years.
If you dream not just of studying cyber security, but of being among those who will shape its future, then we’re looking for you.
