The V.V. Popovsky Department of Information and Communication Engineering at KNURE has secured yet another international Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project!
This is now the fourth project in the field of cybersecurity and European digital policy to be carried out by our department. For us, this is not just another grant — it is a continuation of the systematic work that the department’s team has been carrying out for several years, integrating European approaches, standards and practices into the training of Ukrainian specialists.
The new project is EU-GUARD AI: EU AI Governance and Digital Resilience: Regulation, Data Protection and Cybersecurity in Ukraine.
Over the course of three years, the project team will work on one of the most pressing issues in contemporary Europe — the regulation of artificial intelligence, data protection, cybersecurity and digital resilience.
At the heart of the project is the European approach to the responsible and secure use of AI: the EU AI Act, the GDPR, NIS2, the Cybersecurity Act, the management of risks associated with AI systems, the protection of fundamental rights and ensuring their cyber resilience.
The project coordinator is Marina Yevdokimenko, a professor at the V.V. Popovsky Department of Information and Communication Engineering at KhNURE.
We are proud that the department continues to develop international educational and research initiatives and to build up sustainable expertise at KhNURE at the intersection of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and European digital regulation.
