As part of the USAID project "Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure," the educational component of which is coordinated by the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department , represented by Prof. Yevdokymenko M.O., the online course "Foundations of Computer and Network Security" was held from July 11 to August 31, 2022. The instructor was Vadim Khazarovich Chakryan - information security officer of DataArt, PhD, graduate of ICE Department 2012 and postgraduate of KNURE (2018). The practical part of the course took place at the RangeForce cyber training facility.

The course attendees were tutors from leading Ukrainian universities that educate cybersecurity specialists. From KNURE and V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department Prof. Lemeshko O.V., Prof. Yevdokymenko M.O., Prof. Yeremenko O.S., Associate Professor Mersni A. took part in this training.

Tutors in the Department successfully repeated and assimilated new knowledge of theory and practice in the following sections: 

Networking Basics;	Data Backup;
Firewalls;	Networking Security Services in Azure;
Snort IDS/IPS;	Microsoft Identity and Access Management Solutions;
Suricata;	Windows Active Directory Escalation: Kerberoasting;
Network Forensics;	Application Monitoring and Logging
Endpoint Security;

and even from a multitude of separate individual modules. Lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions were quite intensive in pace and rich in content.

Acquired skills allow to organize effective proactive and reactive protection of information, counteracting suspected network intrusion and other violations of the level of network security. Each of the trainees drew important conclusions for himself about the revision of the working curricula of the disciplines that he was teaching students of KNURE studying in educational programs:

• "Information Security Management";
• "Administrative management in the field of information protection";
• "Infocommunication engineering and network security";
• "Information systems and technologies".

Based on the results of the summer training sessions, by the end of this year the educational programs of the Bachelor's and Master's level, in which the specialty 125 Cybersecurity is trained, will be revised at the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department .
