Routing & switching laboratory

The laboratory is located in the room 306, in responsible charge – Associate Professor Akulinichev A.A.

Routing & Switching Laboratory (hereafter referred to as the Laboratory) is a structural subdivision is a structural subdivision of technical and educational facilities of the department.

LABORATORY EQUIPMENT INCLUDES:

  • server and network equipment represented by servers (3 pcs), switches (10 pcs), routers (15 pcs), firewall (2 pcs), access points (4 pcs) manufactured by Cisco and Juniper;
  • workstations equipped with modern personal computers (10 pcs.)

THE LABORATORY PROVIDES EFFECTIVE CONDITIONS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF BASIC EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATION AND SCIENCE PROGRAMMES:

– in training bachelors in the specialty 172 “Telecommunications and radio engineering” educational programs: “Telecommunications”, “Infocommunication Engineering” and masters in specialty 172 “Telecommunications and Radio Engineering”, educational programs: “Telecommunications systems and networks” and “Infocommunication engineering” educational programs;

– in the training of bachelors in the 125 «Cybersecurity», «Information Security Management» educational program and masters in the 125 «Cybersecurity», «Information Security Administrative Management» educational program.

These courses integrate core sections of the following Cisco networking courses: Networking Essentials, CCNA: Introduction to Networks, CCNA: Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials, CCNA: Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation, CCNP Enterprise: Core Networking.

Tutors, who teach networking courses, usually have certificates of mastering the appropriate Cisco-courses or are current instructors of Cisco Networking Academy, which operates at V. V. Popovskyy Department of Infocommunication Engineering.

The equipment of the laboratory can be used for open seminars, lectures, master classes and other educational activities involving leading experts in improving the quality of education in the educational programs of the department, expanding relationships with employers, the acquisition of practical experience of teachers and students; conduct research and development activities and scientific-practical cooperation in the development and implementation of modern systems and technologies on specialties 172 – “Telecommunications and Radio Engineering” and 125 – «Cybersecurity».

The laboratory is provided with didactic and handout materials in accordance with the educational curricula for the relevant disciplines.
