Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics received equipment from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
In early 2024, the V.V. Popovskyy Department of Infocommunication Engineering of Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics will be the first to be established received equipment and software from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The technical assistance provided by USAID through the USAID Project "Cybersecurity of Ukraine's Critical Infrastructure" includes 13 pieces of computer equipment (Uninterruptible Power Supplies, PoE Injectors, HPE ProLiant ML110 Gen10 4LFF STO Server, Switch, Network Storages) allow to rebuild and modernize the educational IT infrastructure of higher education.
"We would like to thank the USAID Project Cybersecurity for providing the equipment for our university. This assistance is of great importance, contributes to the development of the educational community and improves the learning environment for students. The received equipment will become an integral part of the university's infrastructure and will help provide quality and modern training for students in gaining knowledge and developing professional cybersecurity skills," said Lemeshko O.V., head of the department of V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department.
More than 200 future cybersecurity specialists study at the institution, and thanks to support from the USAID Cybersecurity Project, they have the opportunity to receive high-quality and continuous training, perform practical and laboratory work, conduct scientific research, and prepare to participate in student cyber competitions and hackathons.
In total, the USAID Cybersecurity Project transferred 5,000 pieces of equipment and 4,000 licenses with a total value of $2.5 million to 25 universities. This is more than 50% of all Ukrainian universities that provide training in cybersecurity and information protection. Most of the institutions that received the equipment suffered from Russian shelling and bombardment or lost their training facilities, so the new computer equipment will help them resume the educational process.
Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics (NURE) is one of the recognized leaders in cybersecurity not only in the Kharkiv region, but also in Ukraine. Thanks to its high-quality education and research activities, the university plays a key role in shaping and developing cybersecurity at the national level.
