Springer Publishers in the series « Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems» (LNNS,volume 548) printed book «Progress in Advanced Information and Communication Technology and Systems. Advanced Approaches to Intelligent Data Processing and Smart Networking». This book includes extended versions of papers presented at the MCiT: International Scientific and Technical Conference - Modern Challenges in Telecommunications.

The research presents an approach to improving the resilience of a software-configured network through fault-tolerant Traffic Engineering routing. The proposed mathematical model allows to formalize the software-defined construction of the data plane of a network connected to multiple access networks. In addition, multiple edge routers have been used to improve fault tolerance. At the same time, load balancing in the data plane is achieved by applying the Traffic Engineering concept by ensuring the distribution of packet flows using primary or backup routes at the access layer between multiple gateways, creating one virtual default gateway. The technical specification of fault-tolerant routing with load balancing based on the modified model takes the form of a linear programming class optimization problem. The model realizes default gateway protection, providing load balancing on the interfaces of the default virtual gateway and within the transport network. Traffic Engineering's fault-tolerant routing process studies confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed model in implementing the default gateway protection and load-balancing scheme in the network.
