The First Online Summer School in Ukraine «The European experience for enhancement the resilience of critical entities in Ukraine» under the Erasmus+ Project Jean Monnet ResCE module was successfully completed
The first online summer school «The European experience for enhancement the resilience of critical entities in Ukraine" on the basis of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department, NURE under the auspices of the Erasmus+ module Jean Monnet was a successful and extremely important event for students and tutors.
The summer school courses were prepared and conducted by: Maryna Yevdokymenko, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department; Oleksandr Lemeshko, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Head of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department; Oleksandra Yeremenko, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department; Arkadii Snihurov, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department; Yanina Roy, Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Head of Information Security Process Implementation and Control Division of the Information Security Department of the Information Technology Directorate of NEC "Ukrenergo".
A total of 43 students representing different Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine took part in the summer school, namely: • Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics; • National Aviation University; • State University of Intellectual Technologies and Communications; • Odessa state environmental university; • Dnipro University of Technology;
The exciting course of studies took place over a three-week period from July 17 to August 4, 2023. Participants were able to dive into an in-depth analysis of the European Union's best practices for critical infrastructure incident response, explore the EU's framework for critical infrastructure risk management, and learn from the EU's experience in protecting Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
The vast majority of summer school participants received high assessment results and successfully completed their respective courses: 1. EU best practices for incident response at the objects of critical infrastructure. 2. EU Framework for critical infrastructure risk management. 3. EU experience in protecting Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
Each of the participants had the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge and gain practical skills and abilities to improve the level of resilience of critical facilities in Ukraine. Students who successfully completed the course checkpoints received confirmation of the summer school in the form of certificates of participation in the International Project, attesting to their commitment to learning and developing an important industry that has a direct impact on the sustainability and safety of our country.
The organizers of the summer school would like to thank the experts who shared their knowledge and experience with the participants. The courses were structured to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the most important aspects of resilience and safety of critical facilities that play an important role in the life of the country.
According to the feedback from the participants of the summer school, next year it is planned to increase the number of practical activities and tasks. In addition, other events and roundtables will be offered under the auspices of the international ResCE project in the near future, follow the current news on the official project pages.
