On May 18, 2023, the second webinar of the «Secrets of Career Success by alumni of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department» was held for students of V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department. The participants had the opportunity to talk to a graduate of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department in 2003, Dmitry Andrushko, who is currently the head of the team of technical architects for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region at VMware.

Dmitry began his story with a short presentation to highlight the main points that should be considered by a young specialist during the first steps in the beginning of creating his own career, and also talked about his life and professional experience. It should be noted that Dmitry Vladimirovich also successfully completed his postgraduate studies and after defending his dissertation he was a tutor at the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department until 2018 and made an invaluable contribution to its development. Creation and successful development of the Cisco Networking Academy, the first victories of the department in international projects, establishment of professional relationships with international companies and universities - this is not the whole list of activities, behind which Dmitry Vladimirovich stood in his time.

The speaker highlighted the basic qualities of a potential employee, which can help in finding the coveted job as soon as possible. Dmitry told about the current list of technologies that companies use to solve their problems, and also covered the issue of implementing artificial intelligence to configure telecommunications networks, not only at the company scale, but even in the country. Also Dmitry Vladimirovich told about the advantages and peculiarities of dual degree programs implemented in our department. He advised not to be complex and not to be afraid, and actively join such international programs, to accumulate precious experience of training, communication and self-development. Students had the opportunity to assess the importance and prospects of studying abroad, as well as learn the benefits of obtaining an international diploma.

During the communication everyone could ask any questions to the speaker. During this time, a very important issue of getting initial work experience for students was addressed, because the vast majority of employers pay special attention to this. Platforms for individual training of students beyond the initial plan to improve their knowledge were highlighted. The speaker emphasized the expediency and importance of obtaining international professional certificates, participation in training programs in IT companies, as well as taking the initiative to get involved in international research projects.
