Meeting with Anton Tugai, a graduate of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department, Software Engineer at Google
On April 14, 2023, the first webinar of the "Secrets of Career Success for Graduates of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department" series was held for students of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department. The participants of the meeting had an opportunity to talk to a graduate of the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department in 2007, Anton Tugai, who is currently a software engineer at Google.
Anton told about his life and professional experience, about his first steps in his employment, about competition and peculiarities of work in the leading IT-companies of the world (Cisco, Google). After a short introduction and presentation about himself, the speaker answered numerous questions from students and lecturers of the department regarding different aspects of education, career building and development.
The largest number of questions concerned the first steps on the path to employment for young professionals: preparing resumes, interviewing, behavior in the company in the first days and months after the start of work. In addition, it turned out that the leading IT companies have long been using ChatGPT analogues, allowing to facilitate a number of routine, but important work tasks. During the question and answer session, the speaker drew attention to the need for constant self-development, self-improvement and active learning of new technologies to remain a highly skilled and indispensable specialist, who even in times of crisis, cuts and restructuring will still retain its place in the labor market.
Also, Anton shared his personal experience of his own mistakes, both in the process of studying at the university and at the beginning of his career path. An important emphasis in the conversation was made on the fact that fate necessarily gives everyone a chance to realize his knowledge and skills. And to this moment of time you need to be ready, constantly approaching it, actively participating in various competitions, Olympiads, contests, showing your level of training, including taking into account their mistakes and failures, not folding your hands, and constantly moving forward. For Anton an important school of life was the Cisco network academy, which at the time was just created in our department. It was the Cisco International Olympiad victories that allowed our graduate to make a name for himself and feel most confident in choosing a job.
The meeting was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere. Students, guests of the event had an opportunity to comprehend the advantages of studying at the V.V. Popovskyy ICE Department and the prospects of employment and self-improvement after graduation from NURE.
Dear students, in a few weeks, expect a new meeting with a graduate of our department. Get ready with new interesting questions!
